This Monday April 7th from 7:30 p.m. Festival Week commences with Film Night at The National Cultural Centre. Three of St. Lucia’s film directors Dale Elliot, Bruce “King B” Ferdinand and Ted Sandiford will be featuring their work.
The film makers describe their work as informative, “eye-opening”, reflective, compelling and engaging.
Dale Elliot’s 21 Days, a film based on actual events which took place in 1985, tells the story of six (6) young men who left the fishing town of Gros Islet on a routine fishing voyage and would eventually varnish. The portrayal captures friendship, horror and survival in compelling fashion. Film Director Bruce “King B” Ferdinand describes Out A Street 2 Heated, as a story about life; a story of twists and turns; a story about decisions and consequences; a story which takes its viewers through the alleys with a first-hand view of “life on the street and the constant struggles of the youth in the ghetto.” Cocoboy and Giraud, will come alive in an onscreen display of animated brilliance when Ted Sandiford’s A.C.I.D. Kreationz presents the popular duo in film as well as Cephas, a short film highlighting peer-pressure and its repercussions.
The public is invited to come out in their numbers on Monday night and be a part of Film Night, ARTREACH 2014.
